Taken by my brother, Sam, after I returned from the base hospital in Vung Tau, January 22, 1969

I'm sorry, I can't remember a thing about this shipmate. but the photo was dated Jan. 1969

The reason the following two photos are dark is there was no electricity in the Mess Decks following the rocket hit. Battle lanterns provided the only lighting. All air conditioning was also off so everyone was soaked with sweat in short order.

Mess Decks looking towards scullery.

With the Galley destroyed he Army came the rescue with the gear needed to construct an outdoor dining facility. The crew improvised to make a cooking and dining facility on the main deck.

Does anyone remember this form? I don't have a clue how I came by a blank one. I think that they may have been given to crew members (blank) when they reported aboard along with the Welcome Letter.

Photo h6 - Can someone tell me this shipmates name?

Photo i1 - I would love for someone to identify this signalman SN. We berthed together while mess cooking and he had a terrific sense of humor. next is Sam and then myself.

A young hostess and a sailor too young to vote but already a veteran brown water sailor. I still can't believe I was ever that young.
