Ma.Katherine Hernandez

(Mikee) graduated from ICC La Salle High School from her hometown in ozamiz city. She is the only daughter among the children of five. Her biggest dream is to become an astronaut as written in her high school yearbook.

When katherine enrolled in University of the Philippines Cebu College in the school year of 1997-98 she was one of the three students who chose the Pure Mathematics option in the BS Mathematics program. Not because she is stupid but due to lack of studying she flunked Math 17 the first time and was forced to be an irregular student on the second semester.

Because of her misfortune in her freshman year Katherine was forced to take up summer classes in the Diliman Campus of the said university to catch up with her peers. She took the liking of the campus and decided to stay there. For lack of the necessary paperworks she was forced to yet again move back to her former campus after a year but she thought that she will return to Diliman the following semester.

The following semester Katherine decided to just stay in UPCC and not for some unfortunate reasons but simply because she finally found a home and a family among her friends. This friends gave her all the encouragements, support and love that helped her focus on her life. Now she is very much willing to take her second chance and to prove to the world that she ain`t stupid but just unfortunate.
