1. How old must I be to join Army Cadets?
You can join once you have reached your 12th birthday and you can stay in cadets until you turn 19.
2. How often do Army Cadets train?
You will parade with your Army Cadet Corps one night each week. Additional training nights for band and competition teams may also be offered. Army Cadets also participate in occasional day trips and overnight weekend training exercises.
3. Does it cost anything to join?
No! In fact, even your uniform is provided free of charge, while you are in Army Cadets.
4. Are Army Cadets paid?
No. However, cadets who complete certain summer training courses are paid a training bonus, and those senior cadets hired for staff positions during the summer months are paid reasonable wages.
5. Will I be expected to join the Canadian Forces?
No. Those who do join, however, find they have already learned some valueble skills through their cadet training.
