Alfred Jenks & his son Alfred of Bridesburg, P.A., contracted with the War Dept. to manufacture regulation rifle muskets.
His first deliveries were late 1862 and his
last were in 1865. The early rifle muskets delivered were of the model 1861 type and later contracts included Model 1863 type I.
