Cimmabest

Full Name: Cimmaron

Nicknames & Phrases: Mr. Dippy, Hahnyahk, precious

little guy, silly little twit, Noodle, Noodlehead

Actual B-day: June 20, 1995

Current Age: 12

Quirks: Rolls in the bathtub, Hollers at walls, ceilings,

& ceiling fans (hence the "Dippy" nickname)

History:

Cimmaron's situation was similar to Misty's but one difference was that

only he and one other littermate survived. My adopting him was request

and desire, too. The request came not because of threatened abuse this time

but due to the flea problems Tammy was having.

The two surviving litter mates were hustled off before they died of flea anemia

or worms. Cimmaron came to me and his sister went to another cat loving friend.

He was scrawny with a double whammy of tapeworms and roundworms! Medication,

good food and lots of loving plumped him right up!

One question I get about him is how did I come up with his name? Well, I worked

with a lady named Cimaronna & she hated it. Always called herself, Cindy. When

I knew he was going to be mine, I wanted a sort of exotic name for him. Tammy

said he was a girl, so I changed the spelling and prepared to receive my "little lady."

"She" had a pair of unmistakable appendages when "she" arrived, so I shortened

the name and voila! There you have it. I named myself after my cat! What can I say?

I like the name!

Another question I get is, what's his lineage? He's half Bru Clan and 1/4 each

Siamese & Persian. We know who his father is. The Persian only shows in his thick,

muscular legs and when he's calm, his personality reminds me of a Persian's. His Siamese

traits are obvious and the rest is all passed through the ranks of the Bru clan. Markings

(apart fron the Siamese browns & blue eyes), "terrorism," (See: Dif-"fur"-nitions) and

orneriness are all from Bruno & kin. His loveability comes from all cats, everywhere, of

course! How could anyone not love a cat????

At the age of 3 mos., Cimmaron's eyes began to look strange. One of his pupils was dilated

& cloudy. The diagnosis: Congenital Cataracts. Fortunately, his didn't continue to grow. He's

been on steroid drops and to a specialist. Their recommendation was not to operate unless the

cataracts begin to grow, again.

In the meantime, Cimmaron sees fairly well. He miscalculates sometimes when he goes to jump

from place to place and he probably thinks he sees things moving on the walls. It's the only reason

I can think of when he talks to them. This is why the nickname "Dippy" came about. He's recently

acquired a new nickname, too. When we pick him up, he hangs limp as anold wet noodle. Instead

of telling him that all of the time, wejust started calling him, "Noodle." Over all, he's healthy as a

horse with a small but muscular body, a cute meow and beautiful eyes in spite of the cataracts.

Cimmaron is another "terrorist." He simply doesn't understand that not everyone wants to play!

He made the mistake of trying to start a play session with Beau (See: The Older Generation).

Not a good idea! She turned around and whalloped him repeatedly! I'll give my silly little twit

credit, he learns fast! He gives Beau the wide berth these days and if he has to go near her, he

moves very cautiously!

Sundown (See: Love On Tap) is Cimmaron's main playing buddy. They rip and tear like

wildcats! At first, when Sundown joined the Herd, Cimmaron hated him! Atfer a few days, you'd

never know there was a problem! Cimmaron also loves to cuddle with his Aunt Hazy. She's very

plush and I guess she makes a great pillow! In the pic below, however, I guess she needed a

pillow this time! :-)

On a personal level, Cimmaron is a sweet, fun, loving little guy and he's great to have around!

When he decides he wants to join me, he'll stay for hours if I don't need to get up. At night, he'll

curl up right by my ear and soothe me to sleep with his purr. He inherited Bru's loud, throbbing

rumble. I never have to encourage him to play and when I pick him up, he relaxes immediately!!

We have a lot of deep, meaningful conversations, too! :-) When he talks to you, answer and

you'll soon have a conversation going with him!

One way to keep your kitty fit is to play with him/her

often and it's a lot of fun for both of you!
