Dog Myths
Myth: If a dog has dandruff, they have dry skin.
Fact: Dandruff can mean either dry skin or oily skin.
Do not add oil to your dog's food to help their coat, bathe them properly,
and condition them to maintain a healthy coat.
Myth: Dogs are color blind.
Fact: Dogs can see some colors, but not as well as humans.
Different types of dogs tend to see different colors.
Myth: If my pet eats grass, they are sick.
Fact: Even vets don't know why pets eat grass. Sometimes
pets eat grass because they like it.
Myth: Cats always land on their feet.
Fact: A cat does not always land on their feet. The height
the jump from is a large factor. Do not expect Fluffy to always land on
their feet from heights over 8 feet.
Myth: Cats need milk.
Fact: Some cats just like people are lactose intolerant,
and milk gives them diarrhea. Milk is not a staple for cats. They should
receive the calcium they require from the food they eat.
Myth: If a dog's nose is hot, it is sick.
Fact: The temperature of a dog's nose is not an indicator
of illness. It could simply mean the dog is warm, or has recently been
sleeping.
