Oh me,  I have had some very rewarding  experiences with Peke's. I  have
also  had some bad ones.  I have one who is Granny
I guess you are thinking, WHY would any one name their pet,  Granny?
Granny has a special story, she came to the shelter 6 years ago, right at the time
I started working there.  She was straved, no hair and I mean NO hair, she
had broken toes, also cigeratte burns to her skin and had been very, very
over-bred, not to mention  one eye.  At first we were going to euthanize her, because
of her age, condition, health and expense.
But when I kept her in my office all day and we had some little chats and she licked me and wagged her tail all day.  Every time she heard a kind word
she wagged her tail.  Well,  I just could not do it.
With the help of a very wonderful and kind Vet. Dr. Sam Young,  Granny
made it.  Granny is doing fine, she now lives a good life in my home.
Granny  sleeps alot,  we think she is about 10 yrs old or maybe more.
Granny  went to the shelter every day with me while, I worked there along with Gypsy,
they are big buddies.  Now, she is happy to lay and sleep and eat at home.
Granny is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life.
Hopefully,  I will have some pics of her up soon.

Fonzie was my other Peke, there is a short story of him on my pet memorial page.  Fonzie
had a terrible personality problem and other problems from his breeding.  Fonzie was a special baby.
