Havan Snares A Snake

While Lisa Harris of Boston, Georgia, was outside picking pecans one day, she heard her 2-year-old son, Seab scream. Looking up quickly, she was shocked to see a 3 1/2-foot snake hanging from the back of her little boy's jeans. "I froze," Harris says. "I couldnt do anything." Paralyzed with fear, she watched as her 10-pound Chihuahua, Havan, dashed to Sean's rescue. Havan darted toward the snake, grabbed it's head, and yanked it loose. "She just kept pulling until she got it off," Harris says. Although the snake, a poisonous water mocasin, left two puncture wounds in Sean's upper thigh, it didnt inject ant venom, and the child received a clean bill of health from his doctor. As for Havan, this was probably just her way of saying thanks to Harris for rescuing her from the pound and making her a member of the family.
