Guerita was still a puppy. She was about six months old.
I was already crazy about her and wouldnt let her out of my sight.
Nevertheless, I knew I couldnt have her with me all the time.
I had to let her roam around a bit.
Little by little I began to let her wander about by herself.
I'd leave her to explore the house.

One night, she was up and about.
I was a little uneasy because our house still wasnt "Guerita proof" yet.
We still had some stuff that could get Guerita in trouble.

Well, you can imagine when I started to call her name and she wouldnt come to me.
My parents and I started to go crazy looking for her.
We looked under the beds, in the closets, in the trashcans (we were desperate).
She was so little that she fit almost anywhere.
All of a sudden, we heard her bark.
It seemed like it was coming from outside.
By this point I was close to tears.
I thought the worst, "the stray cats probably got her out there."
We always keep her inside so I doubt she would know how to defend herself from them.
We went outside to look but there was no sign of Guerita.

We heard the bark again.
We started to follow the sound.
It led us to the bathroom. I was really confused at this point.
The bathroom door was closed, not shut, just closed.
I thought to myself, "how could she have gotten in?
I know nobody put her in there and she cant close the door herself..."

By now I was panic stricken.
I opened the door and the lights were off.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. It was quiet.
Nevertheless, I was still going crazy.
I threw open the shower curtain and there she was.
She was standing inside the empty tub.
She was shivering and scared.
I was so relieved to see her big green eyes
starting back at me from the tub.
My parents and I started to laugh.
It was so funny. I picked her up and hugged her.
I was so relieved to have found her.
Despite the humor, I almost cried.

To this day we still dont know how she ended up in the tub.
It was really weird.
Nothing like that has ever happened again and I hope it never does.
