 It is best to find out the source of the itch and treat it. You can relieve your pet's itch with calomine lotion or an over the counter spray or lotion corticosteroid. Sometimes adding vitamins such as vitamin C, Vitamin E, selenium and zinc will help (ask your veterinarian for the correct dose for your dog) or adding one teaspoon of safflower oil to your dog's food daily.
