Dog Lover's True Stories

We went to our local Petsmart on May 1, 2004 just for fun because they were having an "Adopt-a-Pet". We had no intention of adopting anything! We ended up coming home with Simon, an 8 month old Wheaten Terrier mix. He was in a cage, and people were just passing him by, looking for "cute" dogs. He looked so sad. The nice lady who was fostering him took him out for a walk, and he kept looking at my husband, daughter, and I as if to say, "Hey, take me home, I promise I'll be good!" Needless to say, after looking around at all the dogs, cats, and everything in between, we kept being drawn back to Simon. To make a long story short, Simon went home with us that day, and has become a much beloved "child"! He walked right into our house that day we brought him home, and promptly made himself right at home. He explored all the rooms immediatley, and then laid down on our living room floor and took a nap. He has been an enormous blessing to our family, and loves absolutely everyone. He never meets a stranger, human or animal. He loves TV, especially The Animal Planet station, and will sit in front of the television and stare at the screen. He's too funny for words! I strongly recommend adopting a homeless dog. You will be saving a life, and making a lifelong friend.
