Welcome to the Buckingham's

Guestroom Transformation

I borrowed this background from the PicketFence page because it is the exact color of my paint in the guestroom - hope they don't mind.

The guests are coming - what do I do now!

Here's what we saw when we walked in the house.Dec. 1994 we bought our house.  When we walked in to the room that was to me Nicole's room - this is what greated us.  The scary thing is the person who painted this room thought it looked good.  This photo doesn't do it justice.  It was splattered w/enamel based paint in bright colors.  There is a border on the top, which if you look in the upper left hand corner has been painted over.  There is paint splattered all over the textured ceiling.  The door is crashed in in places and has lipstick writing all over it (we replaced it).  A can of KillzNicole unpacking, after painting & wallpapering. By the way, Nicole just found out her baby is a boy - Garreth due 9/27/98 later and beige paint (Nicole loves nothingness - she hates color - dull!), the room became a little more tolerable (at least to her).  The colors in the wallpaper are not true here, they are really beige, rose, a dark green, some blue & gold with a shimmery finish.  It came from Sears.  Nicole loved her wallpaper and even after she moved out & got married (as children do!) I left the room as is & bought a new bedroom set (whitewashed) and let that be the guest room. Well, it's been 4 years now & I am ready to redecorate that room to please me!  Now the decisions must be made, what color do I want to paint?  I have decided to paint & use a border.   I would love for you to come along with me as I make my decisions and see what this room becomes.  Just so you know - the corner here that Nicole is facing is in the SE corner of the house.  There are 2 windows in the room, one just to the left of this picutre on the wallpapered wall and one on the other wall that is showing close to the closet door (which is in the picture above on the NE corner.  I will be showing you my sketches and also my paint choices, etc.  Hope you have fun!

Let's go home!  Next please
