A house is just a plan

It all starts with a plan!

This is the plan of our house - I can't wait to tell you more about it. There are several different types of plans - this one is commonly known as the site plan or survey. You know - the one you pay a lot of $$$$ for & someone comes out and has his little transit & scopes out your property lines. This is important to know, especially when you are laying out your fences and plantings. You can use this plan for planning your garden and for remodeling. I carry a little paper (about credit card size) with all my room dimensions on it, which I take to the store with me. If you are smart you will start a scrap book, you can buy them or make your own, with paint chips & wallpaper scraps, etc. and pictures, your plan and dimensions so that when you go shopping you have it all right there. One that fits in your purse or your glove box will work just right. And take the site plan with you too, for plants you want to buy. You can turn your yard into different rooms too! You will never be done decorating if you work it right!

I love looking at plans, I am lucky since Jeff is a builder I get to see them all. Now that I went to school I even know how to read them & draw them! That is lots of fun & I like it much better than using the computer. You can take a simple plan like my house and gut it with your eraser and make it anyway you want! When Jeff was building million dollar homes (he's been doing million dollar apartments lately & hotels) then I get to see the latest in ideas, you wouldn't believe some of those plans. Oh well let's move on to a few other types of plans!
