'Boom Boom', Boris Becker is a champion. He has won numerous tournaments from which he became a national hero in Germany.

Boris won the 1985 Wimbledon as a 17 year old. He was also unseeded. Boris is also known for his controversial nature. He is never afraid to speak his mind.

Boris Becker has a terrific game which includes a booming serve, pin point volleys and powerful groundstrokes. His backhand is stronger than his forehand.  

1998

Becker has played a limited number of tournaments as he now plays part time. He beat Rios on clay to reach the final of Spain, where he fell to Corretja. The following week he fell to Rios at Finland. He helped Germany to reach the Champions Cup final in France.

 

1997

Becker announced his retirement after Wimbledon, where he beat Rios to reach the quarter finals. He lost a tough 4 set match to Sampras. Becker tired as he fell to Moya at the Australian Open in 5 sets.

1996

In a surprise, Becker wins the Australian Open, taking out Rusedski, Kafelnikov and Chang. The win was his first slam in 5 years. Becker won the Munich Open beating Sampras in the final. He beat Sampras again at the ATP championships before losing a tough and exciting match 3-6 7-6 7-6 6-7 6-4.

1995

Becker reached his 7th Wimbledon final by upsetting top seed Agassi in the Semi Finals. 2-6 1-4 was the deficit before Becker won in 4 sets. He reached the Semi Finals at the US Open, before Agassi got revenge. He lost in the third round of the French Open.

1994

Becker skipped the Australian Open due to the birth of his first son Noah. He reached the Semi Finals of Wimbledon.

1993

Becker won several tournaments this year.

1992

Becker and Stich won the Doubles Gold Medal for West Germany in the Barcelona Olympic Games. Becker fell in to McEnroe at the Australian Open.

1991

Becker had a successful year in which he won the Australian Open. He also made the Wimbledon Final in which he lost to Stich, his compatriot.

1990

Becker reached the Wimbledon final in which he lost a thrilling match to Edberg 6-2 6-2 3-6 3-6 6-4.

1989

Becker won his third Wimbledon championship in which he defeated Edberg in the final. Becker won the US open.

1988

Becker reached the final of Wimbledon.

1987

Becker won a lot of tournaments.

1986

Becker won his second consecutive Wimbledon championship.

1985

At only 17 years of age, Becker won his first Wimbledon title.
