Chapter Fourteen

... A hurting mind in need of emotion...Don't go and break my fragile heart...

Leighanne brushed a hand through her perfectly curled blonde hair, "Do I need an excuse

to see my husband?" she said.

"Um, well no." Nick stumbled over his words; Leighanne was never usually this harsh

with him.  First Brian and Anabella are acting strange, and now Leighanne, was there a

conspiracy to make him lose his mind or something?

Leighanne sighed, "I'm sorry Nick, it's just been a very long flight, and I'm tired and I

just want to see Brian. I didn't mean to bite your head off, I'm sorry." she apologized.

"It's ok Leigh, come on, let's go surprise Rok." they walked down the hall towards Nick's

room. " Our rooms are joint rooms, come on. He's going to be so surprised."

"Brian!" Anabella laughed. " Come on now, you have to get dressed, don't we all have a

meeting this morning?"

Brian just groaned and pulled Anabella closer to him. " It's not until eleven, possibly

twelve 'cause Nicky's never on time."

"Brian Thomas, it's almost ten thirty, we should really get going."  Anabella scolded him.

"Fine." he sighed, "Wanna take a shower?" he asked, wiggling his eyebrows up and

down.

"Oh dear Lord, WHAT am I going to do with you?" Anabella laughed.

"Kissssssssss me."

"Now why would I want to do that?"

" Because I'm cute and sexy and you can't help yourself."

She thought that over for a few seconds, "Yeah, you're right." she said, before she leaned

over and gently kissed him on the lips.  He brought his hands up to her face and through

her hair as the kiss intensified.  Everything felt right with the world in these moments,

and he felt extrememly happy just lying there with her.  Everything was making sense to

him, or rather, he wasn't thinking about anything, anything but her that is.

" BRIAN THOMAS LITTRELL WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!"

Brian immediately broke away from Anabella. He couldn't believe it. She was here.

WHY was she here? She was the last person on the earth that he wanted to see.  He

would rather be stuck in a fiery pit with *NSYNC, Britney Spears and Marilyn Manson

at a karaoke night then have her here.

" What are you doing here?" he asked in a cold voice, sounding none like his own.

"Well, Brian the last time I checked, I was still your wife.  A wife whose husband doesn't

return her calls, or even call to make sure she's ok."

"Oh Leighanne, you're fine. You wouldn't let anything get in the way of what YOU

want." he mumbled.

"Brian, what is going on?" Nick demanded.

"Yeah, Brian." Anabella added.

Brian turned to see Anabella; nervously twisting the covers around her fingers...he had

completely forgotten she was there. How could he explain to her about Leighanne? How

could he explain anything?

"Brian, who is this?" Leighanne asked, her face full of disgust. " Some groupie you

picked up to make me jealous?"

"Leighanne, you stop that right now-" Brian began.

"Excuse me, but I have a name, and I would like it if you would not refer to me as a

'groupie'." Anabella interrupted.

"Sorry, honey. I'm just trying to figure out who my husband is screwing." she replied

nastily.

"Well, Leigh. You've been to busy with other things, haven't you?" he said.

“Wait, Brian.” Anabella said, the reality of the conversations finally sinking in. “You’re

married?” she looked at him in disbelief.  She couldn’t believe that this sweet, innocent

Brian she felt herself falling for was married.  She had just slept with a married man.

What the hell was going on here?

Brian’s eyes clouded over, “Bella,” he said reaching for her arm.

“ DON’T call me Bella! Don’t TOUCH me!” she exclaimed, pulling away out of his

grasp.  “Don’t even come NEAR me!”

“Bella let me explain-“

“Explain WHAT!” she interrupted, “How you decided to pretend you actually liked me,

just so you could SLEEP with me!”

“Brian!” Nick exclaimed.

“You slut!” Leighanne hissed at Anabella.

“Don’t you dare even speak to her that way Leighanne!” Brian said.  “She’s more the

lady than you will EVER be!”  He turned quickly to Anabella, “It’s not what it seems.”

he pleaded with her, his blue eyes clouding with tears.

“Oh, then what is it exactly Brian?” her voice trembled.

He couldn’t. He couldn’t just whisper magic words at make this all gone. How he wanted

to, but couldn’t.  He simply held his head down. Avoiding eye contact with everyone.

How did everything get so messed up? He couldn’t look his own wife in the eyes, and

he had just lied to a woman he just met, and he slept with her. What was happening to

him?
