“I’ll miss you.” He said to her.

“I’ll be back around 3:30 Dive” she said.

They saw the bus come towards them. Dive turned her around. "I will pick you up k?” he said. She nodded.

He leaned down and kissed her on the mouth. He remembered the first time they kissed it was after a battle they had fought against Lord Dragonus it was also the first time she had let anyone really show any sign of affection since she had been raped by a saurian. They had all come home and she went to her room to relax and he followed her. Wing has seen the two and told her she was now part of the team. The bus stopped and she got on waving good bye to her love from the window. He waved back and went back to the arena to get ready for tonight’s game. It was going to be the first one the two had ever been in together. But it was going to be a lonely day.

At school

It was still not time for classes when she got there so she headed to the cafeteria. To hang out and hopefully meet some people. She sat down at and empty table near some round ones. It hadn’t even been 5 minutes when some people sat down at the round table nearest to her. They were laughing and joking around. Just looking at them made her miss Dive and all the others. If she hadn’t come to school she and Duke would be practicing fencing. She was teaching him Chinese tricks and he was showing her Puckworld stuff. After that everyone would be out on the ice getting ready for a game. In fact tonight would be her first game. She and Dive would play together. Finally the only girl sitting at the table noticed her she excused herself and walked over. Sydni noticed this once she sat down across from her.

“Hi I’m Jessie you must be new here huh?” she said. Sydni nodded.

“What’s your name?”

“Sydni."

“And yea I’m new here I’m a junior.” she said.

“Really so am I. Listen do you want to sit with us?” Sydni smiled.

“I’d love to” she said.

“Great come on over you can be part of our group.” She said and took her over and made her a seat next to her for Syd.

“You guys this is Sydni she’s new here so be nice and don’t scare her off k?” every one nodded.

“Ok this is Jason. He’s well he’s Jason enough said.” She said pointing to the blonde boy next to her.

“That’s cat he’s pretty cool once you get to now him” she said pointing to the guy next to Sydni.

Finally the introduction was over and the talking began.

“So Sydni do you have a boyfriend.” The boy called Brandon across from her asked.

She looked at him and noticed his gaze towards her.

“Yes I do his names Nosedive but every one calls him Dive.” She said dreamily and told them what he looked like with a dream like look in her eyes.

“So he’s a duck then” said Jessie.

“Yea he is.”

“Hmm we got one of those. Her names Ashley you want to keep him away from her if he’s cute. She’ll steal him right out from under your nose if you not careful."

Right as if she were called a female duck walked by and sneered at the group. She had strawberry blonde hair and a nice figure. She was short though and she wore ass tight jeans with a bust hugging tank top on.

“Oh I don’t think Dive would cheat on me he’s to nice.” She said.

Right then the bell rang saying that it was time for class. Fortunately Jessie and Sydni had the same classes. Unfortunately Brandon was in some of her classes and he hit on her in every one. After a long day of work it was 3:00 o’ clock time to go home. Just as she walked out the school doors she saw Dive on his motor bike waiting for her. Sydni turned towards Jessie who was staring at him.

“Come on I’ll introduce you to him. He’s really cool c’mon.” she hauled Jessie over to the motor bike.

“Hey sweetheart.” He said when she reached the bike.

She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

“Is that all I get after a day of loneliness of you not there?” he asked disappointed. She ignored him.

“Dive this is my new friend Jessie, Jessie this is my Boyfriend Dive.” She said.

“Nice to meet you” he said nodding.

“Come on Syd we have a game tonight member?” he asked.

“That’s right I forgot” she turned to Jessie. Would you like to come to my hockey game tonight and maybe spend the night?” she asked.

“You play hockey? What team?” she asked.

“Yea I play for the mighty ducks. So do you want to?” Jessie nodded. Sydni pulled out a ticket for her.

“Here and you’ll be able to get in the locker room. All you have to do is tell the one who’s guarding that you want to speak to Syd and you get in. well I’ll see ya later.” She said and hopped on the bike and they sped off.

Back at the arena Sydni was skating laps when Duke came in.

“Hey sweetheart how was school?” he asked as they skated side by side.

“It was really dull except I made a new friend” she said.

“She’s coming to the game tonight so be ready to meet her. And don’t call me sweetheart” she said before she playfully knocked him over she sped off the ice pushed the button that turned her skates into shoes and took off laughing.

“Hey come back here,” he said as he ran after her.

She reached the living room before he caught up to her. He tackled her and started to tickle her.

“Stop Please hahahah stop come on Duke” she gasped as she laughed.

“Not until you say you’re sorry.” He said and continued.

Finally she said she was sorry. He let her up they sat next together on the couch as she caught her breath. He turned to her suddenly. She turned to him as well. He quickly leaned in and kissed her. She pulled away from him.

“What’s the matter Syd?” he asked.

“Y-You kissed me” she stammered.

“Yea because your like a sister to me that’s all.” he said.

She nodded and sat back down.

“Sorry Duke it’s just that a guy was hitting on me today and well I’m not sure I should tell Dive.” She said.

“I’ll come in tomorrow and talk to him.” He said. She looked at him and smiled and reached over and hugged him.

“Well we better go get ready for the game it starts in an hour” he said after the hug. She nodded and went off to get ready. In the locker room. They had just finished the prep talk and were heading out just before they left Dive grabbed her and gave a passionate good luck kiss then went out together.

“Tonight we are introducing a new player to the mighty ducks. Her name is Sydni Stephens. She’s 16 years old and is number 18 she will be working next to Nosedive in the offense.” Boomed the announcer.

As they skated around the rink Sydni saw Jessie cheering for her beside where she was going to be positioned. Sydni gave a quick wave to her before getting ready.

“Nervous kiddo?” asked Wildwing from his position.

“Hell yes I am now lets kick some butt” she said and the game began.

Soon the game was almost over and they were winning but not by much it was 23-24 their side. The puck was coming right towards Sydni. So far she had done very good so far no puck ever got past her really. The guy was hurtling towards her. She wasn’t scared though. But she didn’t see the guy behind her. She went to take the puck the guy got past her to Dive she turned around just in time to see the guy before she was rammed right into the glass. She fell down her head by the wall when the guy slammed her head into it. She fell to the ice. Her helmet was cracked and some of the material had hit her face she was bleeding and she was unconscious. No one heard Jessie scream to her since the fans were cheering for the ducks. Her team gathered around to celebrate when they noticed she wasn’t there. They looked over to the wall where she was supposed to be and there she was on the ice. Dive broke away and fell to the ice beside her. He took her in his arms and took off her helmet. He took off his as well. He wiped the blood away from her face. Jessie slid over next to her.

“Oh my god is she alright Dive?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” he said.

They heard Sydni moan. They looked at her as her eyes fluttered open. Dive hugged her.

“God I thought you were really hurt" he said.

She drew away from him. The announcer had just seen her on the ground and was saying what happened.

“Dive shut-up and kiss me for gods sake” she said.

He pulled her into his embrace and kissed her.

“Whoa it seems on of the ducks is showing relief that his teammate is ok. It’s really heating up I bet the ice is melting.”

The next morning

It was yet again for Sydni to go to school. This time she caught the bus with Jessie.

“So how did you like the game?” she asked.

“It was wonderful except for when you got hurt. I’m planning to go to every single one.” She said as they walked down the halls.

Brandon walked up to the two and put his arm around Sydni. She sighed and rolled her eyes. Then turned to Brandon.

“You’ve got a surprise today Brandon” she said a little seductively. He smiled at her.

"And what’s that sweetheart?”he asked.

A voice came from behind him. “I’m the surprise.”

He turned around to face Duke. He didn’t look happy at all. He lifter Brandon up by the collar.

“She has a boyfriend pal. And she is like a sister to me. And only I call her sweetheart” he said.

“And if I hear you’ve been hitting on her again he’ll deal with you.” He said and pointed to Grin who stood behind him cracking his knuckles.

He dropped Brandon on the floor.

“Now leave her alone pal okay?” Duke said finally.

The boy just nodded and ran off. Sydni walked over to Duke and Grin giving them both hugs.

“Thanks you two” she said. Duke hugged her back and Grin nodded.

“Ya now Dive’s here you might find him in the Lunchroom” Duke said.

Sydni smiled and ran off leaving Jessie with Duke. The two had hit off pretty well last night and Jessie had a crush on him and she believed that Duke had a crush on her. When she reached the cafeteria she saw a sight that broke her heart. There right in front of her was Dive who was being kissed by Ashley. The girl that was told might steal her boyfriend. The two pulled apart when she walked in. Dive had purple lipstick on his beak. He saw her and started towards her.

“Sydni it’s not what you think” he said.

“Sure right that’s what they all say” she sobbed and ran off to Duke and Grin leaving Dive behind.

“Duke I need to go home I feel sick all of a sudden” she said tears pouring down her face.

Duke took on look at her and nodded.

"I’ll take you home” he said then turned back to Jessie and said good bye and to her surprise and Sydni’s gave her a peck on the lips and headed to the door with Sydni to take her home.

Back at the Arena

Sydni was in her room crying when Duke came in after getting some coffee. He came in and sat on the bed besides her resting his hand on her back and rubbed it.

“Well I brought you home now you should tell me why you’re crying your pretty little eyes out,” he said.

Sydni sat up and looked at him.

“Well I went to find Dive and he was where you said he was except he wasn’t alone” She took a moment to blow her nose.

“He was kissing another girl. Her name is Ashley Alley and I was told that if I didn’t watch out for him she would steal him right from under my nose. And I let her do so.” She said and started to cry again.

Duke leaned over and hugged her. She hugged him back crying into shoulder. He didn’t mind.

“It’s going to be okay we’ll figure out what to do alright,” he said.

Soon she fell asleep. He laid her down and covered her. She slept through out the afternoon and was awakened by Wing who had been told every thing by Duke.

“Sydni come on its time for supper” he said shaking her shoulder.

She looked up at him. Tears stains covered her cheek.

“Will Dive be there?” she asked.

Wing nodded. She sighed and looked like she was going to cry again but took a deep breath and got up. Wing put his arm around her shoulders as they walked down stairs to the dining room. Normally Sydni would have sat down beside Dive but today she got her food and sat at the bar away from him. Mallory walked over to her and sat with her. The two had become really good friends over the year that Sydni had been there. The two talked about what had happened. After supper every one went to the living room. Sydni took one look at Dive and got up to go to the Arena to skate. Dive ran after her. He caught up to her in the hallway. He grabbed her arm to stop her.

“Sydni please listen to me” He begged.

She turned to him. Her normally happy face was a mask of sorrow. “Why so you can just lie to me about Ashley kissing you?” she said as tears ran down her face.

“Ya now I thought you were different than other guys but I was wrong wasn’t I Dive. You just went and kissed a girl and thought I would never find out about it?” she said.

“Sydni please I didn’t kiss her she kissed me.” He said to her. She wrenched out of his hand.

“Sure right whatever.” She said and walked off.

“Besides how do I now you didn’t hit on the guy that was supposedly hitting on you.” He called.

She stopped in midstride and turned to him. She walked back to him and slapped him across the face leaving a red handprint in his cheek.

“How dare you!” she cried loud enough for the others to hear. “How dare you accuse me of cheating on you. I loved you. I was that foolish. I thought you loved me but I was wrong. Now I say this Good-Bye Nosedive Flashblade” she said and ran out.

As Dive walked back into the living room with a handprint on his cheek and the roar of a motorbike engine take off they knew what happened. At the beach where Dive had found Sydni after she had been raped Sydni sat down and looked at the water. She started to cry into her arms as she brought her knees up to her chest. She heard foot falls behind her.

“Go away Dive.” She said without looking up.

“It’s not Dive, Bitch,” said a hateful voice.

She looked up in time to see Dragonus’ Hand come at her. She felt a stinging pain in her cheek as her world went black.

Back at HQ with the Ducks Drake 1 was going nuts. Wing turned the screen on. There in his full might was Dragonus.

“Hello Wildwing how are you?” he asked.

“What do you want Dragonus?” Duke asked.

“Oh nothing I just want you to surrender that’s all” he said.

“And if we refuse?” asked Wing.

“Well a little friend of yours will be lets see terminated.” He said swinging around a watch Communicator in his hand. It had a large Black S on it. It could only belong to one person.

“That’s Sydni’s wrist COM,” cried Dive as he looked at it. “What have you done to her Fossil face?” he asked.

“Oh nothing at all. Yet. Ya see if you surrender I won’t kill her I will only make her my bride but if you refuse I shall kill her slowly with her own knife” he snarled.

“Let me see her” Duke said.

Dragonus moved from the screen to see a tied up Sydni on a large red bed. She had a large bruise on her cheek along with 5 claw marks on it. Dragonus had hit her.

“You bastard what have you done to her?” Cried Dive. But then the screen flickered.

“You Ducks have 45 minutes to get down to the dock warehouse to surrender or she dies. That’s 45 minutes.” He said and the screen went out.

Leaving the Ducks in front of a dead screen. A voice came from behind everyone.

“What are you guys doing standing around here when you have to save my best friend and soulsister.”

Every one turned around to see a tall girl with curly silver hair with a long wooden staff in her hand with a curved blade in her hand. She wore tight but flexible black jeans. She had on army boots and a dark gray tank top.

“Jessie what are you doing here?” asked Duke who looked kinda happy to see her there.

“I’m here to save my best friend and to help you guys” she said and ran out.

The others followed her. She rode a small but fast motorcycle. Soon they reached the Docks. There was a large building there in the center. The girl got off her Bike and walked to the front of it. She knocked twice. Then ran back to the others. Dragonus, Chameleon, Wraith and Siege came out. Dragonus held an unhappy Sydni in his arms.

“Let her go Dragonus.” Said Dive angrily.

“Why would I want to do that boy. Beside don’t you like Ashley better?” he asked.

“What how do you now about that?” he asked enraged.

Suddenly a seductive voice came from where Chameleon used to stand. Instead there was Ashley puckering her lips to Dive. She then laughed as she saw Dive’s face and changed back into Chameleon.

“Ewwww gross Chameleon kissed me,” Dive said as he spat on the ground.

Sydni’s eyes opened wide as she realized what had happened to him. Dragonus noticed.

“That’s right love she forced herself on Dive and you just happened to come around the corner when it happened.” He said laughing.

She hung her head in shame. “I’m sorry Dive I didn’t now,” she said.

Tears were running down her face. Dragonus saw Jessie there her teeth clenched in anger. Duke stood beside her with his saber ready.

“I see you have a new member. No matter she will die as well. So do you surrender?” he asked.

Wing looked at him angrily “no way lizard lips” he said angrily.

Dragonus looked at him. “Very well then” he said and threw Sydni to the ground between the two groups. Dive ran to her and held her in his arms as she cried. Dragonus snapped his fingers and suddenly killer robots surrounded the two. Dive covered Sydni with is own body to protector her.

“HA the two lovers will die together” laughed Dragonus before he disappeared.

The things advanced but just as they were about to kill them a blade swung through half of them and a golden saber go the rest. The two looked up to see Jessie and Duke standing together. Sydni jumped up and hugged her friend. As Dive went to his brother. Sydni went to Duke and hugged him. He returned the hug. Wing walked over to Jessie as Dive and Sydni stood together holding hands. Wing towered over Jessie. He was listing all the things she had done and was going to punish her.

“ You snuck into our headquarters and you could’ve gotten yourself killed. AND” he started as Jessie clenched her eyes shut waiting for it to come.

“You saved my brother and his love our teammate who has been like a sister to us” he said and held out a hand to her.

She timidly took it. The two shook hands.

“Welcome to the team” he said and hugged her.

Syd ran to her best friend and the two hugged. Finally after shaking hands with her new teammates she was in front of Duke. He held out a hand to her. She took it expecting a handshake but instead… Duke pulled her into his arms and dipped her and said.

“I’ve wanted to do this ever since I met you” he said and kissed her deeply as every one whistled and clapped and the other two couples. (Dive, Syd –Wing and Mal) did the same. Duke pulled away.

“Jessie will you be my girl?” she only nodded and pulled his head into another kiss.
