Paul Shafland with a Butterfly peacock

Paul L. Shafland, biologist, angler and director of the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission's Non-Native Fish Research Laboratory in Boca Raton, is fondly referred to as the `Father of Peacock bass' in Florida by angling journalists.

The very successful south Florida Peacock bass fishery he started in 1984, now generates US$4.9 million annually to their local economy.

" Introduction and Establishment of a Successful Butterfly Peacock Fishery in Southeast Florida Canals, Shafland, P. L. 1995", is the motivation and foundation for my `Project Peacock' in Malaysia.
