Oxbow, Maine This old wooden fire lookout stood in the Aroostook County township of Oxbow. Not much is known about it. This is the first photo we have ever seen of the tower. Also shown is a Camp Dana, Maine Forest Service 1929!
Big Moose Mt. formerly (Big Squaw Mt.). The fire tower stands in very bad condition in December 2001. Note one of the MFS helicopters with it's tail hanging over the edge with
Moosehead Lake in the background. In the foreground, left, is the Maine State Police antenna and solar panel
next to the fire tower. The MFS has a similar solar panel system near our
antenna.
