Tips to Save the Environment

The environment includes the complex of physical, chemical and biological factors surrounding an organism. Right now, our environment is being polluted by various factors. The air we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat are being dirtied.

Many are not aware of the danger our Planet Earth is in if we continue this lifestyle of ours. Little habits can cause damage to the earth if not careful. Certain habits like crumpling up used papers, leaving the lights on, throwing your Coke can away into the dustbin are enough to add to the depletion of the ozone layer.

What you could do is to collect used papers in an old box (now, that’s what I call a recycled box), remind yourself to save energy and to turn off the lights before leaving the room and to make it a point to throw recyclable stuff to the nearest recycling dustbin . For those staying in Ipoh, there are some at the newly open Kinta City, so while hitting the shops, remember to bring along recyclable stuff. If your country does not have them, you could always collect them at home and send them every month to be recycled. These habitual rituals if performed can actually lower the statistics scientists have claimed that the ozone layer will not be around to save our skins in a few years time.

Car-pooling is another way to stop pollution. With less cars on the road, less toxic gases are exhumed, and therefore reducing the level of unwanted gas. Here are other good green habits:
· Clean the filter of your air-conditioner once a month.
- A dirty filter uses more energy
· Use microwave ovens whenever possible
· Install solar water heaters
· Keep curtains drawn when air-conditioner is being used as it deflects the sun’s rays and, thus reducing the air-con’s output.
· Use energy saving light bulbs in offices and homes.
· Keep light bulbs clean.

After all the projects and campaigns that has been done internationally to make the people aware of their role each as an inhabitant of this earth, many are still oblivious to the fact that the destroyers of this universe is mankind itself. Everyone plays an important part to keep this earth going . No matter how small or big your role is, your love and care is what the earth needs to live. Don’t take the sun and the earth for granted.

Stand up and make that change . Make a change for our children and our children’s children. Our Planet Earth is a precious soul and it’s a gift from our creator. So, reach out now, be Mother Nature ‘s friend and lend a hand to stop the pollution and to inherit a better world.

Make That Change!!
