Its age is over 600 years, located on Doi Phuphiang Chae Haeng, Tambon Fai Kaeo, Amphoe Muang and was
constructed during Sukhothai period. The annual worshipping fair takes place on the full moon day of the first lunar month.
The fair includes the celebration of fireworks processions and offerings processions.
Wat Phrathat Chae Haeng is situated on a slight rise across the Nan River to the east, offering a panoramic view of the town and vialley. Long nagas
wind up the hillside to an enormous Bo tree, wrapped in colorful cloth, at the temple's entrance. The most striking sight was the 55 meter chedi which glowed a burnished
gold in the late afternoon sun. The Wiharn was also impressive, its multitiered roof showing the influence of nearby Laos. Visitors arrived constantly
to make offerings of flowers, incense and cadles, and fell under the sway of the reverential atmosphere, lingering until it was almost dark.
