Kataragama,

where Many Faiths Converge

#1 Kataragama, a sacred site revered by both the Buddhists and the Hindus alike, is situated in the dry zone. Here, a gaunt tree standing in the middle of Debarawewa, which is a birds paradise in the mornings and evenings, tells that story.

#2 Kataragama Herbal Plantation, is a blessing and a far-sighted act, as this board announces. Can be seen on the way to 'Kiri Vehera' along the new path, also constructed around that time.

#3 There are about two other dagobas designed in the form of more famous Tissa dagoba. This is how one of them is seen from Debarawewa, early morning.

#4 The Tissa dagoba. Tissamaharama is another ancient town of the kingdom of Ruhuna which existed those days.

#5 The statue of 'Vihara Maha Devi', at Tissa dagoba premises.
