PROBLEMS:  Sometimes there is injury or a
                           'blockage' of the energy flows through the
                           particular chakra. When this occurs, physical
                           manifestations of illness follow. Repair of
                           the injured area or removal of the blockage
                           is necessary to effect healing and to have the
                           chakra again functioning efficiently.
          

                             CROWN CHAKRA is situated on the top of
                          the head. It is associated with the colour pur-
                          ple. It vitalises the upper brain (cerebrum). It
                          is good to eat vegetables and fruits of the
                          corresponding colour to help vitalise each
                          chakra. The Crown chakra is thought to be
                          the controller of all of the other chakras,
                          so it is important to keep it functioning well.
                          Because the crown chakra is associated with
                          the colour purple, all purple crystals can be
                          utilised to help with this area to a greater or
                          lesser degree, depending on the type used.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Confusion, depression,
                          alienation, lack of inspiration, senility.

                          BROW CHAKRA (third eye)
                          Found in the centre of the forehead, between
                          the eyebrows. The associated colour
                          is indigo which is a form of dark blue.
                           All dark blue natural
                          crystals and fruits and vegetables are help-
                          ful to revitalise this area. This area's funct-
                          ion is to vitalise the lower brain area and the
                          central nervous system. It is also associated
                          with vision (the eyes).

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Fear, cynicism, tension,
                          headaches, eye problems, bad dreams, lack of
                          concentration. Can also deal with memory
                          problems.

                          THROAT CHAKRA
                          Located in the throat area, its associated col-
                          our is sky blue. All fruits, vegetables, and cry-
                          stals of this light blue colour are approp-
                          riate for this area. It deals mainly with com-
                          munication and creative expression.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Ignorance, knowledge
                          used unwisely, thyroid problems, depression,
                          inability to speak up or out for yourself,
                          voice, lack of discernment.

                          HEART CHAKRA (physical heart)
                          Located in the centre of the chest, its assoc-
                          iated colour is dark green. All fruits, veget-
                          ables and natural crystals of this colour 
                          can be used to help heal/revitalise this area.
                          (emotional heart also). It deals with the heart,
                          the circulatory system, the lungs, thymus
                          gland.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE:  Heart and circulation mal
                          functions, also repression of love, closing
                          the heart (emotional) emotional instability,
                          nervousness, tension.
                          N.B.  EMOTIONAL HEART: associated colour is
                          pale pink, so all fruits, vegetables, crystals
                          of this colour will help revitalise.

                          SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA
                          This is situated above the navel and below the
                          chest area. Colour associated with this chak-
                          ra is yellow. All fruits, vegetables, and natur-
                          al crystals of this colour can be used to re-
                          vitalise. It is associated with personal will,
                          energy and self control. It also affects the
                          digestive system, gallbladder, muscles, liver,
                          pancreas, adrenals and metabolism.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Anger, fear, hate, digest-
                          ive problems. Needing to have power too much.
                          Greed.

                          NAVEL CHAKRA
                          This is placed in the area of the navel. Its col-
                          our is orange. Its area of operation is the
                          ovaries, testicles, womb, bladder, prostate.
                          All orange fruits and vegetables and natural
                          crystals will help to vitalise this area.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Sexual difficulties, con-
                          fusion, jealousy, envy, desire to possess, over-
                          indulgence, impotence, uterine and bladder
                          troubles.

                          ROOT CHAKRA (base)
                          Situated at the base of the spine. The colour
                          associated with the root chakra is red. All
                          fruits, vegetables and natural crystals of a
                          red colour can help with this area. It deals
                          mainly with strength, vitality, life-force, self-
                          preservation, instincts. Also spinal column,
                          kidneys, colon, legs, adrenals.

                          PROBLEMS CAUSE: Insecurity, violence, greed,
                          anger, constipation, spinal problems. It can
                          also make you overly concerned.

 
                          It is important to be aware of the effect that
                          a weakened or blocked chakra can have upon
                          the body. These energy centres are the main
                          self healing system and need to be cared for
                          and maintained constantly.
