Birding Big Day is the most important day in the Birding Calendar of BirdLife South Africa. This annual event is a fundraiser for bird conservation and provides the opportunity for birders to have great fun while testing their birding skills.

ZABIRDSTUFF has put together a number of accounts of the exploits of teams taking part in BBD '97 which was held on 29 November and was undoubtedly the biggest ever.
