As I was browsing around the web (in early 1996), I came upon a site that featured the 1994 Red List Endangered Species List of Animals from every country around the world. That was when I became aware that my country, the Philippines had a lot of animals listed on the page. This list was updated in 1994 so there was no telling how many species have disappeared from this earth since then. I was shocked because I wasn't aware that many of the animals listed even existed. It was then that I decided that I was going to somehow make filipinos aware of our fate. I have taken upon the task of enumerating the various endemic species (animals that can only be found in the Philippines) that are on the Vulnerable, Endangered and Critical lists.

These are the species that need the most help. This page is dedicated to all the groups that are striving to save our environment despite the considerable odds that face them in this day and age. I hope you can learn a bit about how man's selfishness can destroy a life, an animal, a habitat and as a whole , the Mother Earth.

I hope you can write me if you know some of the groups that are handling the conservation projects for any of the animals.

I have grouped the animals into categories so that it would be much easier to know what they are. Some of the animals names are quite misleading if read. Enjoy your visit and please send me your comments, I would very much like to hear your opinions.
