 | From Africa, South Asia and Malaysia to the Moluccas. Passage migrant and winter visitor. Common in most parts of Borneo from September to April. No proof of breeding in Borneo. Size 19 inches. Found singly or in small flocks in freshwater swamps, open grassy areas, playing fields, golf courses and padi fields, often in the company of cattle or buffalo on grazing grounds. Often seen flying low to or from communal roosts in the mornings or evenings. |
