From Assam and Burma to Malaya, Sumatra, Borneo and Java. Common sub-montane resident in primary, kerangas swamp and mossy forests to 4000 feet. Size 15 cm. Singly or in pairs, usually skulking in dense cover of creepers and bracken fern at the edges of clearings. |
