Palaearctic, wintering in the south. Very common passage migrant and winter visitor. Size 20 cm. Found in ones and twos, all along the rivers of Borneo up to its headwaters to 4000 feet, usually on bare mud or sand banks just above the waterline. Also found on coastal mudflats. |
