Malay Peninsula and the Sundas to Australia, in many areas an introduced bird. Common resident in open wooded areas and clearings around towns and sandy seashores to 3400 feet. Size 18 cm. Usually seen singly or in small groups feeding on the ground. A popular cage bird. |
