Activities of the Bangsai Arts and Crafts Training Center
The Bangsai Arts and Crafts Training Center began to provide training in arts and crafts to farmers, villagers, and other interested persons on May 1, 1981. Participants are given instruction and lodging free of charge and stipend for personal expenses during their training begins at 8.00 hours and continues until 16.00 hours. The participants work and study six days a week, with Monday being their day off. Each group of students numbers about 500 persons and undergoes training for a period of approximately four months.
The Training provided by the Centre encompasses hadicrafts and supplementary occupations for farms from every region of the country. There are two main types of courses, namely those taught every day and those taught only on Tuesday.

The Centre supports graduates of the training program who wish to pursure their newly acquired vocations in their own localities by selling them, at cost, the materials and equipment they need to commence production. It also purchases their handiwork at a handsome price if it meets the Centre's high standards of quality. These are the basic principles Her Majesty the Queen has laid down as essential to the long term success of both the Bangsai Arts and Crafts Training Center and of its graduates.
During the month of February every year, the Centre hosts an Arts and Crafts Fair, complete with variety of fascinating activities, as a way of promoting Thailand's cultural heritage. Other programs undertaken by the Bangsai Arts and Crafts Training Center are the Loi Kratong Ceremony and the traditional long-boat races. Both of these fun-filled yearly events attract great numbers of visitors.
