Miss Ellena Carole Compton and Mr.
Adam Russell Smith were married August
31, 1997, at 1:30 p.m. at Calhoun's on
the River in Knoxville, Tennessee. An
Hawaiian-style reception was held
immediately following the ceremony at
the restaurant overlooking the
Tennessee River.

Ellena is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Stephen L. Compton of Memphis and
Linda C. Flores and Robert H. Pressman
of Elkins, Arkansas. Adam is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Smith of Knoxville.

Maid of Honor was Shawn Bean of
Memphis, friend of the Bride. Best Man
was Gary Chambers of Knoxville, friend
of the Groom.

Ellena graduated from Overton High
School, attended the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville, and graduated
from the University of Memphis with a
BA in Journalism. She was a member of
Kappa Kappa Gamma and Public
Relations Student Society of America.
Ellena is employed with Federal Express
as an Operations Manager in Charleston,
South Carolina.

Adam graduated from Bearden High
School and the University of Tennessee
in Knoxville with a BS in Geological
Engineering. He is a geologist with
Integrated Science and Technology.

The Groom's mother hosted a bridal
shower and brunch at the Apple Cake Tea
Room in Farragut on Saturday, August
30. Later that evening the Bride's parents
hosted a party in honor of the couple at
the Knoxville Hilton

After a honeymoon in Kailua Kona on
the big island of Hawaii, the couple
resides in Folly Beach, South Carolina.
