Your President's Message
As I complete my term of office I would like to reflect upon the year's activities. It's been a good year. We've had some ups and some downs, but we have managed to survive the conflicts. The 19th Annual Show was a huge success thanks to our show manager Rowland Skirrow and all of you who helped. I'm please to see many new members take such an active interest in the club's activities. Keep up the good work. Let's keep the club growing - as we know it is one of the best in the country. We all need to continue to work together, helping each other, and sharing the advantages of a good organization.
Thanks again for your fine support
Sincerely,
Chuck Arella
We all know what a Fine Show Rowland gave us - so I am not going to elaborate, I'm just going to give him a great big "THANK YOU" from all of us!

We will hold our ANNUAL CHRISTMAS GIFT EXCHANGE at this meeting. If you are new this means that each person coming to the meeting will bring a gift to exchange with somone else, the gift not to cost less than $2.50. The men will bring something suitable for a man, and the women will bring something for a woman.
Two more items for this meeting; Leonard will take your orders for bands, (I think this is for canaries only, but ask him).
I want to thank you for your letters concerning the proposal listing psittacines birds in Appendix II of the CITES Convention in New Delhi. The decisions have not yet been made - but at least we did cause them to reconsider. And now we are awaiting their conclusions. I'll keep you informed.

Anyone have an Aug/Sept. 1980 issue of Watchbird - willing to sell - phone me, CAL
As this is my last issue I would like you all to know how grateful I am to those of you who have so graciously complimented me on my efforts. My goal was to try to help anyone who asked for it - about big or little birds, as well as wild or caged birds, etc. I have also tried to share as much information as I could. And - yes - I have enjoyed my job tremendously. My one regret is that the club has not deemed it necessary to purchase a good duplication machine, but I have hopes that one day soon this will be accomplished. This - my last issue - is being printed elsewhere (at my expense) so that it will be more legible.
Thank you all
Have a Happy Holiday
Charlotte
