Dear Members,

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

To all of you that missed our last meeting, we had 2 workshops going, one for the Canaries & one of the Hookbill & Exotics. The information was really flowing in both workshops & everyone gained much information. So much in fact, we were asked to continue the "breeding" workshop at our next meeting. The Canary workship only got as far as the "1st egg laying", so there will be much more to discuss at the next meeting.

If you have any birds you would like to bring and have the "experts" pair them up for you, please feel free to do so. Or any other questions about a particular bird, -- bring it along.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all you wonderful people who have helped me out this past month. Your generosity has been overwhelming! I have received some beautiful birds & even one anonymous letter with cash enclosed. I can't tell you how much I have appreciated your generosity! Without your help, I would have been unable to start again this Spring season.

Thanks so much again,
Joe Gordon

Don't forget to pay your dues by Feb. 15th ($12.00) so you will be listed on the new roster. Bands (.10 ea.) & color food ($3.00 per oz.) may be purchased from Leonard Quieto.

Leonard Quieto has been appointed to be Show Director for the 1978 Show to be held at the Santa Clara High School Cafetorium, Nov. 24, 25 & 26.

NOTE: LOOKING AHEAD, our May meeting will be held on the 1st Sunday of May instead of the 2nd Sunday, on account of Mother's Day.

We are in desparate need of members signing-up for our monthly meeting raffles. Allen Thompson is the only one for the month of Feb. meeting. Are there any two people who would be willing to bring a bird or something of equal value for this raffle? If so please call Joe Gordon.

Sorry to hear LaVerne Santos is laid-up with a broken ankle. We sure wish her a speedy recovery.

Belated sympathy to Mrs. J. Alberts on the death of her mother, Mrs. Cy Goodson, who was a member of our bird club.
