Beginning with the June meeting the raffle will be held immediately after lunch - followed by the program - then the regular monthly meeting.

Raffle donors for June - Dan Gamma, Bill Cooper, John Gillio

One of our members - Anita Sweet - of Willits, Calif. was a June bride. I'm sure we all wish much happiness for her and her new husband.

The next Executive Board Meeting will be held at the home of our president Chuck Arella, 10484 Merriman Rd. in Cupertino.

Don't forget the Feather Show - Sept. 22 & 23 - this is for young birds only ('79). Start watching your "young-uns" for possibilities. This is where our new people will really learn about "show procedure".

Hope you remember Nikkie's report a the last meeting about Mr. P.R. Smith - assistant Secretary of Agriculture and his attempt to "squelch" the national bird quarantine program. We all sent telegrams to him urging him not to! As a result of these messages from our club (and apparently many clubs from all over the country) we understand that his idea really was "squelched". And a BIG thank you to all of you who cooperated.

And now about the PICNIC -
Be sure to make your reservations at the June meeting. The date - July 15 - Lakewood Park - Sunnyvale (a map will be in July news) Begins around 10:00 A.M. - lunch at 1:00 - stay as long as you like. New member listings will be included in next month's newsette.

You may be interested in knowing that at long last we are to have some help in locating a "Bird Doctor" or at least a veterinarian who has had some experience in dealing with birds. There is a new organization - The Northern California Association of Avian Practitioners - who can help you. All you need to do is call an NCAAP spokesman will refer you to a skilled bird doctor. The number is 415 - 538 - 1302. Ask for a referral in your area.
