The "Guest-Guitarin' Gilmour" tape tree project is an attemt to accomplish Rick Karhu's idea of gathering all non-Pink Floyd songs that feature Pink Floyd guitarist and current frontman Dave Gilmour's guitar or/and vocal appearances into one large collection and distributing it among Pink Floyd's fans.
The project is now in its first stage - I'm gathering material for the tree. Next stage will be - provided there'll appear enough contributors - subscription, and the last one - distribution, most likely at a rate of two tapes per month. And note: this project won't reach the second stage if there won't be enough contributors, so make sure you do all that is possible to avoid this!
And yes, Rick Karhu had already volunteered to do an artwork for the tree.
Below is a list of Gilmour's appearances in chronological order, along with people that agreed to contribute the recording. Current contributors are (in order of appearance):
Yes! You too can become a contributor and thus have your name immortalized on the GGG tape tree j-card and get a higher position in the tape tree structure. All you have to do is look through the list below and see if there's something you can contribute; and if there is, write to nospam@cautious.com, and state the songs you can supply, their length and the media you have them on (CD, LP or tape; in the latter case, also state the generation).
Don't hesitate to offer your help even if someone had already agreed to supply a song that you would liked to contribute, but you feel that you can outscore him/her by the criterias below (in order of importance):
Your tape can be the one that is most needed for the tree, so once again: don't hesitate.
The base for the following list were lists compiled by Cristoher Sprague, Aaro Koskinen and Frank Rößler - I just put them together and fixed some "holes" using information from the World Wide Web; still the final product is obviously incomplete, so if you have any corrections/additions, mail them to me right now.
