The Java animation applets are written in version 1.02.
Code was compiled with the Sun Java compiler on a Power Mac/OS 8.
I used Sun's Java Development Kit 1.02 for the Macintosh which was
downloaded from the www.javasoft.com website. I used MS Word 6.0
to write the code and compiled with javac. 100% pure Sun Java.

All the text animation and most of the buttons are Java. I did not include the
source code on the website. Contact me for information.
Most of this website has been developed with Java, so Java must be enabled
in the browser prefs(see below). Since I wrote/compiled code in V1.02, all
options should be supported by Java enabled browsers.

The Java animation applets on this site should be run with MS Internet Explorer
with the JIT compiler option enabled in the browsers preferences settings and
make sure Java is enabled with the Microsoft Virtual Machine option selected.
The performance of these applets on the IE browser with the above enabled
is up to 2X as fast as compared to Netscape Communicator.

Most of the animation applet graphics are generated with frames created in
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dimensions, and Adobe Photoshop. The frames
are output in JPEG format and used sequentially in the java code.

The applets will run in a Windows and Macintosh environment without any code modifications. Some problems I have encountered running the applets are:
-
Out of memory exception error when applet frames are loading. Close some of
the open applications on your system and select "Reload/Refresh" from the browsers menu.
-
Out of array boundary exception error when selecting a link and returning
to Java applet. Again select "Reload/Refresh" from the browsers menu.
-
Not all JavaScript buttons are loaded and selecting "load missing images" in MS Explorer
causes the Java applet to blink. The applet blinks when a JavaScript button is activated
with a mouseOver. Quit the IE application and launch IE again.
