Comments: I would like to use a 'button' to link to another page. How do I make my button depress? I know how to use an image as a link, but not how to make it depress when it's clicked? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Carry
Comments: Your site has supplied me with loads of help on learning HTML. I would like to thank you for this. But I do have a question. Is there a way to print the source code for my page from the File Manager Utility at Geocities? I'm the type of person that needs to be able to look at things in writing in rder to be able to change or correct things that I have done on my page (or anything else for that matter). Also, is there a way to print other people's source info from their pages in order to figure out how they have coded something on their page? I appreciate any help you might have on this. Thanks again, Terri
Comments: Hi! Neat page! I was wondering if you could design a banner for me? Your banner page isn't working. Thanks!
Comments: I know more than some, apparently, but boy does your page have a truck-load of information! I would really like to have the sort of setup you have here, with the separate doohickeys *S*. I mean, over on the left of your page, and on the bottom of THAT, th re are separate "windows". Is this the frames I am hearing about, and know nothing about, except many hate them? Well, anyway, I hope to hear from you, Sue, but you must get SO MANY emails.... Good job. A REALLY good job. If you want, and have the time, c eck out my site, and let me know what you think. I am still working on it almost every day, but then I think that is important to do. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Comments: I didn't fill in the URL because I don't remember it. I've had my WebTv since October and am still stumbling around. I signed up for geocities because one of the WebTv magazines gave instructions for creating a blank page in your homesite for writing lett rs, making medicine lists, insurance lists, etc. without having the email header at the top of the page. I created a blank page but don't know how to access it to use it. Geocities is incredibly confusing and has too many levels to check. I found your let er in the WebTv users question and answer section. I spent a long time trying to figure out how post my question and couldn't even login. I tried to register to receive your email help magazine and kept receiving the 'geocities can't find the page' message. I am really lost nd would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Comments: Hi Sue! Are you the Sue that does emergency buttons for Uncle Murder? I help him manage Button Central :-) I've got a question. Do you know of a good, easy to understand frames help site? I want to learn how to do them and haven't been able to find a rea ly basic tuturial on them. It'd be nice if you'd create one. I looked thru your contents and don't see one. Hope I didn't miss it. Have a great day!
Comments: Sue, Thanks. Your suggestion that I choose a different color for the text, the link and visited link enabled my text and links to appear on my page. Again, thanks for your help. I wish you the best. George
Comments: Sue I just bought a new HP Pavilian computer, running netscape 3.0 and my music frame on my web page not longer works. The little midi player doesn't show and the music doesn/t play. What I do know is that with the new HP computer it launches an HP music ra k containing a wave player, a midi player, and CD player all stacked on top of each other when I play a midi file on my hard drive. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Do I need a certain plug-in to make it work? I'm at wits end. Can you HELP! !!!!!!!!!! Thanks,

Comments: What a beautifully inviting page. I 'm only a week old on the web and I'm fumbling with a lot of areas. I got to your page thru the Pink & Grey page. I haven't had time to read through all your reference, but I plan to do that tonight when I get home fro work. I have a page up and running that I created in WordPerfect and then uploaded through File Manager. Then I had to go in through the Advanced HTML Editor to clean up a few things that weren't working. But now I found that I can do even neater thinks with S Word. Can I retrieve what I already have out there in my GeoCities directory into MS Word so I don't have to start from scratch again? Then after I redo some things upload again through File Manager? Again, thanks for your great page. It makes me feel comfortable in this scary place.

My page is about my siberian husky, and I would like to find some backgrounds that are dog related. Do you know of any sites where I can find these kinds of backgrounds? Also, I would like t find some animated graphics featuring dogs. Thanks for your help!! |

Your page did encourage me tremendously to move on with what I had --- what was close to nothing, since I just "moved In" after several hours of struggling! I appreciate your time and admire your effort, e pecially your thoughts (which were expressed very thoroughly in your homepage) in putting the package together! God Bless & Best Wishes!!!!!! |

Comments: What a beautiful and helpful site you have! I envy you. I took the easy way out in creating my first web page... EZ Editor. I don't know how much experience you have with that, but now that I've created an introduction and link to my email, I don't kno what to do. This is partially because I don't know what EZ is capable of, and because I'm not sure what I am capable of! Geocities help seems to have how to get started, but beyond that, it caters to brave souls who use the advanced HTML editor. Do yo have any first steps (baby steps, please) to recommend? Suggestions? Thanks, Sue, and again, your page is great... maybe someday I'll overcome my fears and undertake something like this!!!! Kristin
Comments: Hi Sue, Great page here. I came to your site thru Annabella's page. You have done a great job here. I really did enjoy reading all of the information that you have here. I even got the HTML Font Fader Colorizer, that looks like it should be fun to play wi h. Keep up the great work that you have been doing. Pam

Comments: Sue, Your page has been a great help to me as I've built my webpage. I still have a lot to learn, but my page would still be the Geocities generic "Member has not moved in" screen if it weren't for you. Thank you so much!! I've referred other people to your site, and would like to put a link to it on my credits page. May I copy your banner to use as a link? Thanks again for taking the time to help others as you have! Karli

Comments: What a great site! I have a couple of questions for you: Why can't I hear your music in Netscape? Can it ONLY be heard with Crescendo? (I have it on my MSIE), Do I have to download it to Netscape also? Is there any way I can download a color code chart like yours for use on my computer? (I don't have a color cart. in my printer right now).I'd like to ind a font sample chart also. Thanks, Bruce
Comments: This is a question about FTP. I've attempted to download something so I can use FTP (the one geocities recommends). It's not working at all for me. I can get it downloaded but either I don't know what to do next or what I downloaded isn't working.

Comments: Hi sue....I am having trouble leaving my banner as a link back to my home page..it comes up as a broken image...here is what I type in...why doesn't it work on some guestbooks and in the geocities help forum postings? ![]()

Comments: First...what a nice page. Your work is appreciated! I hope you may have an answer for me. I have been reading tons and can't find an answer. I am using Windows 3.1 for Workgroups and Netscape Nav Gold 3.02. Several months ago I created my home page with no trouble. Things were great. Then about 2 mont s ago I had some trouble with N.N.Gold not letting me get my mail nor get to the net. I downloaded another copy of it and things were fine, except I could no longer use Geocities EZ upload. So, I downloaded N.N. Gold again, this time it was the 3.02 ver ion. Still, no trouble except I can't use the EZ upload. My little page sits dead in the water!! :) Have you any experience with this? Should I try yet another N.N. Gold version?? Sincere thanks in advance for your time and help. Kindest regards, Carole
Comments: Hey, Sue, I enjoyed your Help site very much. Thanks for your offering, hard work to make that. I am a totally green hand on Web building or Homepage making. Are they the same? And is a good page builder tool very decisive? Or to grasp the HTML code is better? Because it looks like with more and more tools even secretaries can make flashing homepage ? I don't know. Being short, that's all. Thanks again for your offering. I would be a frequest. Yours Sincerely, Wang Tao
Comments: I've made two different pages, and when I go to my page, Geocities says they can't find it.
| Comments: I can't seem to get the search part of Geocities to see my site. On one of your replies on the Help Forums, you said that you have to register with the search engines or use the Submit It button and enter them there. I'm sorry to say that I don't know h w to register with the search engines and I'm not sure which Submit It button you are referring to. I appreciate this website. Thanks for your time. | Comments: Ok I've got my page up but I know I'm going to make changes in it. The only way I've found to change a page after it's been put on the web is to go to the file manager, chose file-edit and save. Then make a copy of that same file(which renames the copy an has the changes), then delete the orginal. By doing this I lose the fist file name and can't usa that name again. How can I have an index file when I have to change the name every time I make a change?I do have a second page but it took forever to get a ink between the two b/c of this name problem. So how do I add new pages and avoid this problem? Any advise is welcome b/c I'm very new to this. Thank U, Richie Lover MacNut |
Comments: Found your page while browsing and found it to be the best set of instructions to get started making your own page anywhere. It is really fabulous. I even gave your URL to Bruce Bellamy at Brucbell@concentric.net. He sent you a message several days ago. I also mentioned your page as the Best Place To Get Information under GeoCities Help Forum...Getting Started-The Basics as I though it would help all those people who are trying to get some information on preparation. I am using Netscape Communicator-Page Composer to try and get my page started, but am having problems on getting my images to show up. Maybe you can tell me where I went wrong????? First I copied an image from a home page and loaded it on my A Drive. I went to Netscape Communicator and did an "INSERT/Image" onto my page. I then used GeoCities File Manager and loaded the page, but my image does not come up. I have tried all kinds of things, with no luck. My latest was:

Comments: 1) On Tips for Great Page Design.. You note.... Always add the height and width to your images. This helps the page appear to be faster-loading. The browser doesn't have to search for the size, and can put aside the space while it displays the text. MY question... How do you determine the hieigt and width of the graphic??? and then use the following commamd??? ![]()
