Thought-provoking drama thriller that sees lawyer Anne Heche track down Vince
Vaughn and David Conrad in New York - two years after their year out
travelling concluded in Malaysia - with some shocking news.
Third companion Joaquin Phoenix was arrested for possessing a dealable quantity
of hashish (which they all bought) the day after Vaughn and Conrad left, and
unless the pair confess their involvement - and spend three years apiece in a
Malaysian jail - Phoenix swings from a noose in eight days.
To his credit, though flawed, director Joseph Ruben's picture concentrates on hammering
home the agonising moral dilemma. The result is a none-too-cheery but unexpectedly
challenging picture.
