Asparagus Kuzhambu


Asparagus - 2 sambar powder - 1 tblspn
tamarind paste - 1/2 tblspn
turmeric powder - 1 pinch
mustard - 1/4 tspn
fenugreek - 1/4 tspn
vegetable oil - 2 tblspn
curry leaves - little
asafoetida - little
salt - as needed
Cut asparagus into 5" pieces. Cook for a minute with salt and tamarind paste. Asp. should not become very tender. Then add sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt. Heat until the raw smell is gone and it becomes thick. (If it is not thick, take a tablespoon of water mix a teaspoon of rice flour and add it to the kuzhambu and heat for some time) In a separate pan add oil and splatter mustard add fenugreek and curryleaves. saute for a second and add it to the kuzhambu. sprinkle asafoetida powder. This can be mixed with rice.
