Modelling the Main Spindle

This was the second object I tackled.  This is a picture from the spline editor with my outline of 1/2 the main spindle completed.  This 1/2 outline will be saved as points and brought into the detail editor.  Then the center line will be deleted and the object was created with a "sweep"

The outline has been placed within the object editor.  The side has been removed to only the outline remains.  Placement of the axis changes the object created by using the "sweep" tool.

The axis is placed on the outline of the object in preparation for "sweeping".  I chose 50 steps rather than the default of 12 to get a smoother object.

Here is the complete object after performing the "sweep".   It needs to be scaled though the current proportions should be okay if my tracing picture was accurate.  The axis needs to be moved and scaled to exactly fit the dimensions of the object.  See next picture.

This is the last step.  Now that the axis's sizes match the object, I then used the transformation requestor to precisely make all the dimensions fit my scale model.  I used the size tool within the requestor.
