It's really a no-brainer to use these things because it's the same as using other images!
To save the animation to your disk:
- Point the mouse at the animation
- Right click with the mouse button and select "Save this Image as..." Mac users should use their palm and hold down on that ONE button until the menu pops up.
- Give the image a name and save it to your disk
- Link it like this: <img src="the_name_of_the_image_goes_here.gif">
Don't bother directly linking the image to this site. Not that the server can't handle it, it's because we DON'T HAVE SQUAT linking us to the web. If you make a link to the image your page will load slow, it will take forever to get the graphic and finally it will come up with a broken picture icon because it took sooo long to get. Besides, I could move the files around and then where would you be?
Not to tell you what to do with your page, but try keeping the number of animated icons to a minimum. Too many cause Netscape to get really screwed up. It starts spooling to the disk, the 'Stop Sign' goes nuts and after Windows is sucking the bottom of the system resources you'll get a General Protection Fault and your system is toasted. At least that's what happens to me.
