HP AND SYMANTEC COZY UP TO
REMOTELY CONTROL HP PCs

Symantec Corporation will soon be integrating its new pcAnywhere 9.0 remote support software with the new HP OpenView Desktop Administrator Version 5.0 from Hewlett-Packard Co. As told to your Connected Crustacean, HP will provide the integrated version of pcAnywhere as an option to its Desktop Administrator 5.0 customers, allowing them to save time and money.

The integration of pcAnywhere 9.0--an advanced remote control package for remote PC deployment, administration, and management--lets HP OpenView administrators access any Windows-based computer throughout their entire IT infrastructure. The result, HP says, is a "lowering [of] the overall cost of desktop support. Help desks can launch a pcAnywhere session and provide hands-on troubleshooting and remote support to LAN-based, remote, and mobile workers directly from the HP Desktop Administrator console."
