Have you ever wished life came with an instruction book?
Many people would eagerly read such a book to discover how they could become happy. In Ecclesiastes 12.13-14, Solomon summed up his lifelong search for happiness. He used his incredible resources and wisdom to find happiness and ultimately found it by following these words: "Fear God, and keep His commands." That's it! That is all you have to do to enjoy life!
What makes you happy?
Ecclesiaster 2.24-26 reminds us that even the simplest pleasures of life come from God. But if you read the rest of Ecclesiastes 2, you'll find that without God - no matter what you try - you will not find real happiness.
Solomon tried all kinds of pleasures, but he concluded that God gives happiness to those who please God. If we follow God, we can take great pleasure in our meals, our work, our studies, our play, our families, and our worship. When we follow God, we can experience the truest happiness possible.
