If you think you are beaten,
You are
If you think you dare not,
You don't
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't
If you think you're lose,
You're lost
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a person's faith,
It's all in the state of mind.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster hand,
They go to the one who trusts in God
And always thinks, "I can!"
Here's some tips for success suggested by H. Jackson Brown Jr.
Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.
Work at something you enjoy and that's worthy of your time and talent.
Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Be forgiving of yourself and others.
Be generous.
Have a grateful heart.
Persistence, persistence, persistence.
Discipline yourself to save money on even the most modest salary.
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
Commit yourself to constant improvement.
Commit yourself to quality.
Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power, or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.
Be loyal.
Be honest.
Be a self-starter.
Be decisive even if it means you'll sometimes be wrong.
Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did.
Take good care of those you love.
Don't do anything that wouldn't make your Mom proud.
You have wanted success. Success is elusive, isn't it? That's because you have been living by your own ideas. I do want you to be successful, but on My terms, not yours. You measure success in the quantity of your possessions and achievements. I measure success in the quality of your character and conduct. You are interested in the success of your goal. I am interested in the success of your soul. True success is to satisfy your calling, not your ambition. Live as a called man.
The biggest problem I see in your life is that you have spent your whole life looking for something worth living for. It would be better if you found something worth dying for. Give your life to that, and I will give you joy, no matter how hard the path becomes. What is the cause you would be willing to die for? Better still, who is the one you would be willing to die for? How, then, should you reorder your life?
I made you with dignity. I created you to be significant. I have put in you the spark of divinity. You are My most excellent creation. I was at My very best when I created You. Do you understand and believe what I have just said?
With Love,
Jesus
