How to RUN 'tkring.java'
------------------------

1. The 'tkring.java' file is first compiled using JDK's 'javac.exe'. On
compilation the 'TokenRing.class' file is generated.

2. Now, using JDK's 'java.exe' , run the class file using (a/b/c) as
arguments. Run 3 different DOS sessions under Windows 3.x or Win 95/98,
each time using a different in-line argument. The 3 DOS sessions can be
minimized, so that all of them can be easily viewed as windows.

3. The 3 DOS sessions repesent the the three stations A,B & C which are
connected in a LAN with Ring-Topology using the Token Ring Protocol.

4. The token is passed from Station A (initially possesion of the token is
with Station A) to Station B to Station C and back to A, in that order.
Whenever a station has possession of the token it has the option to pass
it on to the next station or to utilise it in sending a data packet to any
of the other stations. At a time only 1 station can transmit.

5. When a station receives a data packet not meant for it, it simply passes
it on to the next station in the ring.

6. When the sender gets back the data packet sent by it, it frees the token
and other stations can now utilise the token for data transmission.
