WELCOME TO THE WIN-JDK MAILING LIST

Why this mailing list exists?
I have been active in Java application development since November 1995.
Over this period of time, I have subscribed to numerous mailing lists,
on which, the topic of discussion is Java development. However, *all*
of these mailing lists are cluttered with development-kit platform-
specific issues. Usually, the questions that are raised refer to Sun's
Windows 95 JDK. On 8/25/1996, we have witnessed release of IBM's Java ADK
for Windows 3.1. Win95 and Win3.1 are crucial platforms for both
development and testing of Java applications. Since most mailing lists,
such as java-rmi and strong-java are, are currently cluttered with
win95 questions, and IBM has not started a "support" mailing list, it
has been suggested that a separate Windows JDK specific list be started.
