He married Flora Cooper in IN, JAN 1873. (Flora Cooper is #38.) Flora was born in IN 12 Apr 1853. Flora was the daughter of John Cooper and Mary D. Culp. Flora died 19 Aug 1936 in IN. Flora became the mother of Alice May French in IN, 5 MAY 1880.

At 33 years of age John became the father of Alice May French in IN, 5 MAY 1880.

John Butler French and Flora Cooper had the following children:

8 v. Alice May French (#31) was born in IN 5 MAY 1880. Alice died 26 SEP 1963 at 83 years of age. She married Clifford I(E)rwin Ellis 4 JUL 1907. (Clifford I(E)rwin Ellis is #30.) Clifford was born in IN 28 Apr 1872. Clifford was the son of James Milton Ellis and Janet Muir Thompson. Clifford died 6 FEB 1930 in IN. Clifford became the father of Lula Mae Ellis 23 Apr 1923. Alice became the mother of Lula Mae Ellis 23 Apr 1923. At 31 years of age Alice became the mother of Leslie Raymond Ellis in IN, 7 SEP 1911.
