If anyone is interested in taking over
the FreeCD project where I left off,
[hint, hint] drop a line
and I'll
help out any way I can.
(Check out the News to see
why I'm being so subtle).

Yes! It's here!
So it's code you want, eh? Well, as it happens, I just finished
throwing together a quick little source code ZIP file to tide you over
until version 2.0 is complete, and here it is:
Check out the README.TXT file to see what's what. The code itself is
relatively well commented, so you shouldn't have too much trouble (though if you do,
you know where to reach me).
Source code info
FreeCD's
code is Public Domain. You can do whatever the heck you please with
it (though if you modify or distribute it, I'd appreciate a mention of
where it came from). It was created entirely with Borland
C++ 5.0, using only API functions (no OWL or MFC) to make it as compact and efficient as possible. It amounts to
just shy of 2000 lines, most of which is pretty basic stuff, so you shouldn't
have any trouble understanding it with a little C++ experience (and knowledge
of the Win32 API doesn't hurt). All the static graphics were created
with Adobe Photoshop 4.0 and JASC's
Paint Shop Pro 4.1. I'll embellish here a little more when the v2.0
code is online... stay tuned.
