Disney's The Kid |
Synopsis Meet Russell Duritz (Willis), a 39 year old who everyone thinks is living a man's fairy tale. He receives a great amount of respect, has a good job, a beautiful house, and makes a ton of money. Of course, there's a price to pay among all of that. He is lonely, has no social life whatsoever, and no conscience. He clearly needs some help. Here is where Rusty (Breslin) comes in! Rusty is, well, Russ Duritz at age eight. Rusty, the kid, teaches Russ, the man, how to be more compassionate and "likeable." Everything from proclaiming love to the lady that Russell is after to taking him on a journey through time and his life. Among all this conflict, there is Amy (Emily Mortimer), the woman that Russ has secretly admired for quite some time. Janet (Lily Tomlin),Russell's assistant and confidant, and Deirdre LaFever (Smart), a Southern anchorwoman who inspires Russ to follow "The Kid." |
"How many of us turn out the way we think we will when we're kids? If we did, there would be a whole lot more astronauts and prima ballerinas. We just grow up to do the best we can." - Jean Smart as Deirdre LaFever on The Kid |

Fan's Review I went into the movie theater thinking The Kid was going to be the typical Disney type movie - strictly for kids. Boy was I wrong! The Kid is equally charming for adults and kids. Spencer Breslin is impressive in his role of Rusty, aka The Kid. Bruce Willis hits it off again! After last year's blockbuster The Sixth Sense, it is no surprise to me that he decided to share the spotlight with a younger actor again. Jean has a small, but yet lovable character role. Her sweet anchorwoman portrayal is wonderful. She has a particular scene with Bruce Willis that takes your breath away. I applaude the cast of this Disney flick. Rating: A |
