I want you all to meet Jewel. As one of the deepest contemporary artists around, the tragedy and humor in her writing is comparable to Shakespeare. She has a book out that every poetry lover,well just about everybody, should get. Her writing is both compelling, and disturbing, and I mean that in a good way. She writes about matters of the heart and spirit,instead of soap-opera romance. It is written to make you think about your life, and what you are doing with it. In a world full of "Junior-High Romance" style writings, few modern writers have accomplished that on their own, especially writers of the female gender. I don't have permission to publish the poems on here, but I can quote excerpts that I find most inspiring.
