picknick: if you want to buy furniture and you're in sweden (or near it), then look at this site. there's something comforting about the photographs here. they're clear and colorful, but were obviously taken of real furniture. and don't miss the lamps.
marc newson: this is the homepage for a furniture and accessory designer from australia, who is definitely influenced by classic designers like the eeros, arne jacobsen, and verner panton. he has also worked with fashion designer walter van bierendonck, who does w.&l.t. the images and layout are lovely.
pop goes the plastic: scott david reilly has curated an exhibit of plastic furniture at the atlanta international museum. this is a new link which replaces the deco-echoes article of the same name. go see the show if you can.
retromodern.com: more stuff to buy, courtesy of mr. reilly. not only does this site have interviews with designers and a 20th century design "marketplace", but you can buy a lot of wonderful vintage and curent design products (dinnerware, furniture, etc.) from people like Inflate, Joe Columbo, Mercury7.... most importantly, you can buy Aarnio chairs from them!!!!! I am seriously considering playing the lottery.
ufo series homepage: run by a fan of this great show, and includes plenty of pictures, sounds, and trivia. there is also a webring for the show, so you can access many other similar sites, including some related to other anderson productions.
the internet movie database: this general movie site has detailed listings for all the movies i discussed in the sci-fi article, so check here if you are curious about cast listings, bloopers, character names, poster art, filming locations, etc.
mike mills visual sampler: go there if you didn't buy the mo wax-released portfolio of his stuff. it's being displayed by the people at caroline/source records because mr. mills designed the cover of the new air record (and you can also listen to real-audio of air on this site). i almost wish i hadn't seen this, because mr. mills and i seem to have quite a few shared tastes, but whatever, he still does the faux-60s-design thing pretty well.
